Chimpanzee Height, Weight and Size: How Big Is a Chimp?

Adult male chimps weigh about 40 to 60 kg and stand about 1 to 1.5 m tall.

Chimpanzees are smaller than gorillas. Adult males typically weigh about 40 to 60 kilograms and stand roughly 1 to 1.5 metres when upright; females are lighter. Their arms are long, and their strong bodies help them climb.

Chimps are widely distributed in forests across Africa. In Uganda, the best places to see them are Kibale, Budongo and Kyambura Gorge. See gorilla vs chimpanzee.
