Masai Mara National Reserve: Great Migration, Wildlife and Best Time to Visit

Kenya's best-known reserve, famous for wildebeest crossing the Mara River.

The Masai Mara in south-western Kenya is the northern extension of Tanzania's Serengeti ecosystem. From roughly July to October, huge herds of wildebeest and zebra cross the Mara River, attracting crocodiles and big cats. The reserve is also rich in lions, leopards, elephants and buffalo year-round.

The migration timing varies from year to year. Compare it with the Serengeti and Uganda vs Kenya vs Tanzania. See the 4-day Masai Mara safari.
