Birding in Kibale Forest and Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary

A community-run wetland walk beside Kibale that is one of Uganda's easiest and friendliest birding experiences.

Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary lies near Kibale Forest and is run by the local community. A trail and boardwalk lead through swamp and forest edge, with local guides who know the birds and monkeys well. Visitors also support village projects.

It makes a pleasant half-day for birders and families, and it pairs naturally with chimpanzee trekking in Kibale.
