Traditional Dances of Uganda: Bwola, Kiganda, Ekitaguriro and More
Dance is a living part of Ugandan culture, with distinct styles in each region.
Uganda's dances reflect its many peoples. The Baganda are known for the Kiganda dances with their drums and hip movements, the Acholi for the Bwola court dance, the Banyankole for Ekitaguriro, and the Banyoro for Runyege. Each tells stories of courtship, harvest, war or welcome.
You can see performances at the Ndere Cultural Centre in Kampala, at community cultural experiences near parks, and at lodges. See cultural festivals and musical instruments.
