Itinerary
Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National Park
In the morning, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Dar es Salaam at 6:00 am and driven to Mikumi National Park for 6 hours with a stopover for hot lunch in Morogoro town. You'll then depart to the park. Arrive for the afternoon and evening game drive. You will be able to see herds of elephants, zebras, impalas, and giraffes while dinner your overnight stay is at Bastian Camp.
Mikumi National Park to Ruaha National Park via Isimila Stone Age
After breakfast with a picnic lunch, drive to Ruaha National Park via Isimila Stone Age. Learn about historical tools used by mankind. On the way, pass through the Kitonga Hills which are part of the Udzungwa Mountains. The road then follows the Great Ruaha River and then climbs the Great Rift Escarpment. Arrive in the evening and check in at the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay at Ruaha Hilltop Lodge.
Ruaha National Park Game Drive
After breakfast, drive with a picnic lunch and depart to the park. Enjoy a full-day game drive. You'll have a nice view of the Ruaha River Valley, and great animal sightings like kudus, wildebeests, elephants, zebra, lions, hippos, hartebeests, impalas, antelopes, giraffes, buffalo and many of them. Take lunch in the afternoon and proceed with the game drive. Dinner and your overnight stay are at Ruaha Hilltop Lodge.
Ruaha National Park Game Drive
After breakfast, leave the lodge and drive to the park for the game drive with a picnic lunch. Enjoy a game drive inside the park with a great chance to see many animals like impalas, buffaloes and many more. Dinner and your overnight stay are at Ruaha Hilltop Lodge. All meals are included.
Ruaha National Park to Mikumi National Park
After breakfast from the lodge with a picnic lunch, drive to Mikumi National Park via Iringa town with en route drives to Kalenga Museums. Learn about Hehe and German battle before heading to Mikumi. Arrive and check in at the camp while dinner and your overnight stay are at Mikumi Bastian Camp.
Udzungwa Mountain Hiking and Waterfall Activities
After breakfast from the lodge, take a 2-hour drive to Udzungwa Mountains National Park. Upon arrival, you will be taken with a professional ranger/guide and take 5 hours hike to Sanje Waterfall's gentle sloop. Take a bath if you will like, learn more about monkeys and birds. Dinner and your overnight stay are at Mikumi Bastian Camp.
Mikumi National Park to Selous Game Reserve
After breakfast with a picnic lunch, depart to Selous Game Reserve a 7-hour drive with en route game drives. Arrive at the camp and check in. Arrive for en route game drive inside the park. Enjoy a game drive and later drive to the camp for dinner and your overnight stay at Selous African Safari Camp.
Selous Game Reserve Drive
After breakfast with a picnic lunch, drive to the park for the game drive. Enjoy full-day game drives inside the game reserve. Have great animal sightings including all the great favourites lion, elephant, giraffe, buffalo, zebra and all the other major species like hunting dogs and birds. In the afternoon after lunch, proceed with the game drive until evening. Your overnight stay is at Selous African Safari Camp.
Selous Game Reserve: Boat and Game Drive
After breakfast, with a picnic lunch, drive to the park for the game drive with a great chance to see more animals like African hunting dogs and many more. Take your lunch in the afternoon and proceed with the game drive. Later, drive for a boat drive at River Rufiji with a great chance to see predators along the river. Dinner and your overnight stay are at Selous African Safari Camp. Refresh with a dip in the pool, or settle into a canvas safari chair beside the fire pit with a cool drink and watch the sun dip below the horizon.
Selous Game Reserve to Dar es Salaam
All good things end! Enjoy your last meal at Africa Safari Lake Manyara prior to checking out, ready for your journey to Arusha. After meeting your driver-guide at the reception, you will head off on an easy two-hour drive back to where it all started; heart and camera filled with memories of your African safari adventure.
