Lake MBURO National park and Bwindi Gorilla safari- 4day Tour

DAY 1- Transfers to L. MBURO National park

Meet your waiting tour guide on arrival at the airport. After a warm interaction, drive off to Lake Mburo National Park, south west of Uganda, near Mbarara town. Stop by the equator crossing for a few drinks, snacks or have a lunch break from a hotel en-route.

The park has a diverse habitat with savannah, woodlands, rock kopjes, swamps and a vast lake surface. It is particularly home to several animals and birds that can be seen on this afternoon boat/ canoe ride. This birding paradise has species like the rare shoebill stork, fish eagles, pelicans, herons, sunbirds, African fin foot and the papyrus bush shrike among others. The lake also has many hippos, buffalos wading in the shallow shore and crocodiles.

DAY 2 - Game drive in L.Mburo and departures to Bwindi National Park

Make an early morning game drive to the park; sights include the rothchild’s giraffe, zebras, leopards, spotted hyena, antelopes and other species. Return to the lodge for breakfast and then board for a journey to Bwindi Impenetrable forest park. The dense, lush forest is a habitat for a few mountain gorilla families, remnants of the 800 surviving across the world.

DAY 3 -Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi

Report the nearby ranger station for briefing and details after breakfast. An experienced/ knowledgeable ranger guide will guide you through the briefing session and then allocate you ranger guides/ trackers to lead you through the dense bamboo forest vegetation. Tracking for gorillas is not an easy task and can sometimes last for several hours (2-7 hours).

Finding a family of these creatures can be exciting and a thrilling experience as you spend a full hour staring at the gorillas, taking their pictures and watch the juvenile swing in the overhanging vines.

DAY 4 - TO KAMPALA OR ENTEBBE

Drive back to Kampala after breakfast stopping by a few craft shops/ villages for souvenirs and gift items to take home. Have lunch in a hotel en-route. Proceed to Entebbe and catch your return flight.
