			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Bwindi Gorilla Safari – 3 Days Gorilla Watching Safari in Uganda</strong></p>
<p><strong>Day 1: Setting off from Kampala for Bwindi Impenetrable national </strong></p>
<p>Picking up will be done by the tour guide from the hotel in the morning for the departure to Bwindi Impenetrable  National Park. Bwindi impenetrable N.P is located in the south western part of Uganda which is an 8-10 hours drive away from the city (Kampala). The stop over will be at the crafts village to have a look at the local arts and even purchase some. At the Uganda equator, pictures will be taken and even brief shopping for those interested. A Lunch break will be at Mbarara town and then later advance to stunning, picturesque evergreen mountainous country side also known as the little Switzerland. The journey will continue via the Uganda rolling green hills through the mountainous area prior to making the last journey to Bwindi  Impenetrable Forest, home of the mountain gorilla.</p>
<p>On arriving at dusk, report to the lodge and later on have supper plus sleep over at either <strong> </strong>Buhoma Community bandas, Bwindi View bandas, Nkuringo campsite tents, Virunga Hotel, Nkuringo safari centre, Nkuringo camp site, Engagi lodge, Traveler’s rest camp,  Silver back lodge,  Gahinga Volcanoes Lodge, or Volcanoes Bwindi  safari Lodge.<strong> </strong>That night you will slumber to the sounds of the mountain rainforest. For your information, the word Bwindi is a Lukiga word meaning impenetrable thus the double caution ‘Bwindi Impenetrable for the wildlife encounters.<strong> </strong></p>
<p><strong>Day 2 tracking of gorillas in the national park</strong></p>
<p>Following an early rise up and breakfast, briefing will be done by the park ranger at the park; who will go through the whole activity (on how the tracking will be conducted). It is advised to take lunch boxes plus all sorts of the needed stuff. The guide will take you through the live-to-remember beautiful breathtaking Bwindi impenetrable forest in the quest for the mountain gorillas (perhaps one of the most invigorating wildlife experiences on this planet). 700 of the kind still exist in the world. In addition, the guide will explain about the plant life and fauna plus the character of the gorillas. Besides the mountain gorillas, the park houses spectacular birds of which, there are 23 Albertine Rift widely spread together with the African Green Broadbill, Bar Tailed Trogon to mention but a few as well as 90 mammal species in addition to 11 primates.  The entire activity normally takes 2-6 hours depending on the time allocation of the trackers.</p>
<p>Resting at the camp is recommended or even a walk or visit to the community/village, where there is interaction with the native Batwa Community. Following all the day’s activities, there is return back walk to the lodge from where supper and sleep over are catered for or your budget. At this time the gorilla trek will have ended.</p>
<p><strong>Day 3: the journey back to Kampala</strong></p>
<p>The journey back to Kampala commences from Bwindi Impenetrable  National Park after having a morning breakfast.  The journey break will be made in Mbarara for lunch from where the journey will then proceed to Kampala reaching in the late afternoon.</p>

<p><strong>DAY 1: ARRIVAL AND TRANSFER TO YOUR HOTEL </strong></p>
<p>After pick up by your tour guide, travel to the bustling capital Kampala for guided tous of the city’s attractions such as Kibuli mosque, National theatre, Uganda museum, cultural and historical sites like the royal tombs at Kasubi, the martyr’s shrine at Namugongo, the Kabak’s palace, independence monuments and others, there is so much to see in Kampala if there is no Traffic jam to hold you hold.</p>
<p>Accommodation and dinner is available from Holiday Express Hotel, Tourist Hotel, Speke Hotel and Cassia Lodge at budget friendly costs and luxury is offered at Kampala Sheraton Hotel, Imperial Royale Hotel, Kampala Serena Hotel and Grand Imperial Hotel.</p>

<p><strong>DAY 2: KAMPALA – Murchison Falls National Park</strong></p>
<p>Head for Murchison falls, in the south western town of Masindi after your morning breakfast at a hotel in Kampala city. Delightfully make stops at the equator crossing for drinks, snacks, photographs and book/ have your lunch at a hotel en-route.</p>
<p>On reaching the park, take a walk to the top of the falls, plunging into a narrow gorge at 47m and 7 feet wide. The water explodes at the base forming a boiling caldron of water, a wonderful sight to behold! There is accommodation of all standards from Red Chillis, Sambiya River lodge or Budongo Eco lodge and luxury options from Paraa safari lodge or Nile safari camp.</p>
<p><strong>DAY 3: MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK</strong></p>
<p>Ready for a morning game drive after you breakfast in the park, north of the Victoria Nile. The savannah plains and roc kopjes here are home to rothschild Giraffe, Hartebeest, Lions, Elephant, Waterbucks and a variety of woodland birds.  Return to the lodge for lunch and take a boat ride on the Nile for the afternoon adventure. There are plenty of birds on the river banks including the rare shoe bill stork, bee-eaters, pelicans, king fishers and much more. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation.</p>
<p>Day 4: MURCHISON FALLS – FORT PORTAL</p>
<p>After break fast, start an 8 hour journey to fort portal town where you’ll later on visit River Semiliki and Kibaale forest national park. Relax for the evening at your lodge; Ndali Lodge or Rwenzori View Guesthouse or at Kanyankyu ecological site.</p>
<p>Day 5: FORT PORTAL – SEMLIKI – FORT PORTAL</p>
<p>Visit the famous Semiliki river, the fringing game reserve and the interesting Sampaya hot springs after breakfast and then interact with the local people living near Ituri forest.  Go ahead and take a forest walk in the tropical lush forest where you’ll find different birds, frogs and unique blossoming undergrowth. Travel to fort portal town where you’ll get accommodation from Ndali Lodge or Rwenzori View guesthouse. While here visit the monument of Sir Lugard Portal, a British officer who created his fort here during the colonial times and from whom the town was named.</p>
<p>Day 6: Kibaale NATIONAL PARK.</p>
<p>Leave for Kibale Forest National Park after morning breakfast into the world of habituated primates like 6 Chimpanzee families, olive baboons, grey mangbeys, popots, colobus monkeys and others. Go chimp tracking under the care and lead of a trained ranger guide at the same time enjoying different birds, butterflies and flowers you meet on your trial. The park has scenic backdrop views of the Rwenzori glaciated peaks. Return to the tourist centre at Kanyankyu for a picnic lunch and visit the surrounding villages, Bigodi swamp and then check nto a lodge or hotel for overnight and dinner. They include Ndali Lodge, Primates Lodge Rwenzori View guest, Kanyankyu Ecological campsite at park headquarters.</p>
<p>Day 7: KIBAALE – QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK.</p>
<p>Have a quick breakfast and head straight to the vast Queen Elizabeth National Park for a mid-morning game drive through the scenic landscape, savannah, views of the lakes like George and Albert and the long Kazinga Channel that connects these rift valley lakes. Sight of lions, buffaloes, elephants, kob, warthogs, zebras and antelopes are common. On the afternoon boat/ launch cruise, get ready to school with the hippos yawning in the lake, crocodiles and buffaloes at the shallows and several birds fly and tossing about the waters and in the swamps at the shore. Find excellent dining and overnight accommodation form the luxurious Mweya Safari Lodge, Jacana safari lodge, Lake Kitandara camp with cheaper options from the institute of Ecology.</p>
<p>Day 8: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK</p>
<p>There are pick ups from your lodge for an early morning game drive in the park, to the south. This part of the park is a known mating ground for the Uganda kob, other antelopes and has more sighs of lions lounging in the trees, zebras, buffaloes and other animals. There also time to visit Kyambura gorge caves, hosting thousands of bats and some snakes, pythons and cobras that prey on these bats. Day 9: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK – BWINDI.</p>
<p>After breakfast, driving through grassland area, instantly we come across an amazing gorge of tropical rainforest 100 meters deep. Trek into Kyambura River Gorge for an extraordinary; experience hiking chimpanzees. It’s so remunerative to see the ravishing river valley, home of many bird and butterfly species. <p>Day 10: BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST NATIONAL PARK.</p>
<p>Morning breakfast is followed by a walk to the ranger station for briefing and tips on how to interact with the gorillas once encountered. The trekking exercise is often long, unpredictable but worthwhile when you come across the family that you have been tracking. Lunch boxes are an accessory to carry, as a must for the long strenuous trekking adventure.</p>
<p>Besides the gorillas, golden monkeys will be seen along with several birds and small mammals. Take pictures of all things, creatures and unique plants you see on the trails but remember not to use the camera flash. Return to your lodge and then spend the evening at leisure.</p>
<p>Day 11: BWINDI – <a title="LAKE BUNYONYI" href="http://www.gorillatrekking.org/attractions/lake-bunyonyi.php">LAKE BUNYONYI</a>.</p>
<p>There is a scheduled nature walk through Bwinid Impenetrable forest, one of the richest eco-systems in Africa with over 300 different bird species, 220 species on butterflies, frogs, bats, chameleons, geckos and several unique species of trees and flowering plants. Down the river trails, the walks take you to short delightful waterfalls.</p>
<p>Have your lunch en-route to Lake Bunyonyi where you’ll find accommodation and dinning for the day. Find accommodation and excellent dining from Arcadia cottage, Bunyonyi overland resort and camp.</p>
<p>Day 12: LAKE BUNYONYI:</p>
<p>Wake up to relaxed adventures from Lake Bunyonyi, sounds of birds in the air, fresh breeze by the serene lake and the like. After breakfast, take nature walk, canoe ride or bicycle ride around the lake that was named after its many migrant and resident birds such as the rare shoebill stork, malachite kingfishers, bee-eaters, little sunbirds and several Albertine rift endemics. Sail across the lake to its spectacular islands and retire to the comfort and luxury of your lodge.</p>
<p>Day 13: LAKE BUNYONYI – LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK.</p>
<p>Immediately after breakfast, there is no time to waste, set off to Lake Mburo National Park for game drive with sights of the zebras, lions, rothchild’s giraffes, giant forest hog, hippos, crocodiles, antelopes, impala and different species of migrant and resident water fowl. Dinner and overnight accommodation is available at Mantana Luxury tented camp, Mihingo lodge, Arcadia cottages and Rwonyo campsite</p>
<p>Day 14: LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK – KAMPALA – <a title="JINJA" href="http://www.gorillatrekking.org/attractions/jinja.php">JINJA</a>.</p>
<p>Take your breakfast quickly and join the trip to the adventure town of Uganda, Jinja. Visit places like Bujagali falls, Ripon falls, the source of the Nile, sugar and tea plantations, not mentioning a stop in Mabira forest for a picnic lunch and forest walk.</p>
<p>Activities to enjoy in Jinja include rafting, quad biking, jerry swimming, bungee jumping… the list goes on and on! Dinner and overnight at Nile Resort Jinja or Hotel Triangle</p>
<p>DAY 15: Kampala City Tour and Departure.</p>
<p>Follow Kampala’s sights and tours after breakfast (only if your departures are late). Visit places like the vibrant markets, Christian cathedrals, shopping malls, cultural and historical sites and craft villages and shops. Take a short lunch and head to the airport for your return flight.</p>

<p><strong>Day 2. Serengeti</strong></p>
<p>The day trip takes you to the famous Serengeti plains with an extensive wildlife reserve and eco-system popular for its prides of lions, annual wildebeest migrations and unique savannah vegetation. Check into any of the available overnight options from Seronera campsite, Serengeti Sopa lodge among other campsites and lodges.</p>
<p><strong>Day 3. Ngorongoro Crater</strong></p>
<p>After your morning game drive in Serengeti, have breakfast and travel to the famous volcanic caldera of Ngorongoro, a basin crowded with different wild animals. <p><strong>Day 4. Ngorongoro/Arusha- flights to Nairobi</strong></p>

<p><strong>Day 05:  Hell’s Gate National Park</strong></p>
<p>After breakfast, visit Hell’s Gate National Park near Lake Naivasha and Nairobi animal orphanage found a few kilometers outside the business district. In the afternoon, take a walk in the city, whose trees attract and nest vultures, eagles, and other birds seen in the backyards of your hotel.</p>
<p><strong>Day 06: Hell’s Gate National Park – Lake Nakuru</strong></p>
<p>Travel to Lake Nakuru from the eastern escarpment. The park is known for its pink flamingoes that flock over the lake, turning it into pink and is particularly a paradise for birders. Book overnight and diner from Lake Nakuru lodge or travel back to Nairobi into your accommodation options.</p>
<p><strong>Day 07: Lake Nakuru – Masai Mara</strong></p>
<p>On fishing breakfast, a tour guide will pick your up and transfer you to the famous Masaai Mara game park, crossing the scenic rift valley escarpments and beautiful Masaai farmlands.</p>
<p>Mara is actually part of the vast Serengeti eco-system plains and is a must visit for tourists especially during the months of the annual Wildebeest migration (July to September). The park boasts of its big prides of lions, buffalos, leopards, rhinos, cheetah, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, hartebeests and much more.</p>
<p>Accommodation and excellent accommodation is available from Mara Sopa Lodge, Mara Serena lodge.</p>
<p><strong>Day 08: Masai Mara – Nairobi – Fly</strong></p>
<p>Wake up on an early Hot air Balloon safari over the incredible Mara (available at an extra cost), or a morning game drive and have breakfast and then drive back to Nairobi in time for lunch at any restaurant like Nairobi Carnivore or Toona tree restaurant. Enjoy Nairobi night life, its vibrant streets that never sleep and the warmth and friendliness of the Kenyan people.</p>
<p>Check into at the airport for scheduled flights to Entebbe for more adventures from the Pearl of Africa, Uganda. Accommodation is available at the imperial group of hotels in Entebbe, Lake Victoria Windsor hotel, Boma Guesthouse and more. There is mouthwatering cuisines and dining in all these.</p>
<p><strong>Day 09. TO NGAMBA ISLAND</strong></p>
<p>Wake up early for breakfast and catch a morning boat trip to Ngamba Island at 9:45am. At the chimpanzee sanctuary, you are welcomed by bird squirts, noises and groan of the orphaned chimps in their caged habitat. Be witness to the feeding session and from the visitor’s platform, take their pictures as part of your collection of memoirs. Other sights on the islands are birds like kingfishers and fish eagles, monitor lizards and more.</p>
<p>Back to the mainland after a picnic lunch, visit Entebbe zoo, a home for several mammals, once homeless, orphaned and under illegal possession. You’ll visit monkeys, crocodiles, caged snakes, ostrich, beautiful peacock, lion, hyena, grey parrots and many more of these.</p>
<p>Travel to kampala in the evening and get accommodation from city hotels like Sheraton, Serena, Speke Hotel, Tourist hotel and others.</p>
<p>Alternatively, take a tour of kampala’s sights like the Uganda museum, independence monument, Ndere centre, martyr’s shrine, cultural sites like the Kasubi royal tombs, the Kabaka’s palace and a lot others.</p>
<p><strong>DAY 10 Transfer to Fort Portal-Kibale National Park</strong></p>
<p>On finishing breakfast, take a journey west of Kampala through fort portal to Kibaale forest national park where you’ll be tracking down it habituated chimpanzee families. Stop by the equator crossing in Masaka for a few refreshments, snacks, souvenirs and gift items plus photo moments at the statue<strong>.</strong> Overnight and dining is available at Kanyankyu campsite, Rwenzori View guest House, Mountains of the moon hotel, Primate Lodge and Ndali Lodge.</p>
<p><strong>Day 11: Chimp Tracking-Kibale National Park –Queen Elizabeth National Park</strong></p>
<p>Start your chimpanzee tracking trails after breakfast under careful lead of a trained ranger guide from the Tourist Centre at Kanyankyu. The forest hosts more than 10 different species of primates besides its famous attractions, the chimps. Primates seen on this trail include olive baboons, grey magabeys, colobus monkeys, popots and much more.</p>
<p>Head back to the tourist centre for a picnic lunch and then proceed to Queen Elizabeth National Park, further into the west. Get on a game drive through the vast park, sights here include lions, spotted hyenas, stripped jackals, buffaloes, zebras, giraffe, antelopes, Uganda Kob and several birds like the crowned cranes, pelicans, kingfishers, fish eagles and others mostly seen on the launch cruise on Kazinga channel.</p>
<p>Visit the rift valley lakes of Edward and George and continue to the Kazinga channel in the evening which is often brimming with several hippos, crocodiles, buffalos and other animals at the shores besides over 500 different birds that toss around the water expanse.Dinner and overnight accommodation from Mweya safari lodge, Jacana Lodge, Albertine Rift Safari Lodge and other establishments.</p>
<p><strong>Day 12: Transfer to Rwanda Volcanoes National Park</strong></p>
<p>Wake up to an early game drive through the park and find the nocturnal predators like lions, leopards, hyenas and the giant forest hog retiring form their hunt. Birds like the pelicans, little sunbirds, weavers, bee-eaters, malachite fish eagles and others will make this dawn beautiful and worthwhile. Return to the lodge to have your timely breakfast and embark on the long trip to the land of a thousand hills, Rwanda. Find accommodation at Kinigi guesthouse and Mt.Gorilla Nest camp.</p>
<p><strong>Day 13. Gorilla Tracking and transfer to Kigali</strong></p>
<p>Take breakfast and walk to the tourist point in Musanze at the base of the Virunga mountains. Receive briefing from trained trackers and then follow your ranger guides in to the thick, lush forest ahead. Gorilla tracking sometimes lasts several hours (2-9 hours), thus the need to pack your lunch with you. On finding the silverback family, enjoy only one scheduled hour of intense interaction, take their pictures and stare for the moment.</p>
<p>Return to your lodge for refreshments/ lunch and spend the evening interacting with other guests or watch a gorilla conservation documentary by the hotel/ lodge lounge. You can either take a trip back to Kampala or take the overnight in Kigali, in order to catch your departures flights on time</p>
<p><strong>DAY 14:  Transfer to The airport </strong></p>
<p>Depending on where you spent the night, return trips and transfers to airport are available for Entebbe airport or Kigali.</p>

<p><strong>Day 1 AIRPORT TRANSFERS</strong></p>
<p>Meet your pick up tour guide at the airport, who will take you though expectations on this safari itinerary and help you book and check into preferred accommodation in Kampala. Overnight of all standards is available in the city, budget and moderate options from Holiday Express hotel, Tourist hotel, Speke hotel, Cassia lodge, and similar while luxury accommodation is available from Kampala Sheraton hotel, Grand Imperial hotel, Kampala Serena and Imperial Royale hotel.</p>
<p>Alternatively take an evening in Kampala’s vibrant nightclubs, cinemas, eating points and hang outs.</p>
<p><strong>Day 2   Kampala City and Jinja Tour </strong></p>
<p>Wake up to a breakfast treat that id followed by pick up from tour guide, ready for a guided city tour of first, Kampala and then the Lake Victoria port town of Jinja. For Kampala, visit historical and cultural sites like Namugongo martyr’s shrine, Kasubi royal tombs, the old Christian cathedrals and city monuments. Have a short forest walk and picnic lunch break in Mabira forest and then head to Jinja, visiting the source of the Nile, Sezibwa falls, Bujagali falls and Ripon falls. These falls are popular places for white water rafting expeditions and jerrycan swimming. Jinja can be otherwise called the adventure town of Uganda with activities like Bungee jumping, rafting, swimming, quad biking and so much more.</p>
<p>Drive back to Kampala for diner and overnight accommodation.</p>
<p><strong>DAY 3 L. MBURO NATIONAL PARK</strong></p>
<p>After breakfast, follow your tour guide for a 6 hour trip to south western Uganda into Lake Mburo National Park. There are a few stops, say at the equator for refreshments, snacks and souvenir buys and then lunch can be arranged in a hotel en-route. The park is a famous home to the Uganda ob crowned cranes, leopards, elephants, antelopes, hippos, crocodiles, zebras and several species of wild birds. The rare shoe billed stork is a resident in the lake’s papyrus reed shores. All this can be enjoyed on a boat ride and afternoon game drive.</p>

<p><strong>Day 4 To Queen Elizabeth and Kazinga Channel Launch Cruise</strong></p>
<p>After you tea and breakfast, board the tour van to Queen Elizabeth national park, crossing many farmed/ terraced hill slopes and long horned Ankole cattle grazing by the grasslands. Arrival to an arranged lunch and join in for an afternoon boat/ launch cruise on the Kazinga channel, linking lakes George and Edward, crater lakes from the rift valley escarpment. On the cruise, you’ll see several yawning hippos, buffalos, crocodiles at the shores and birds crossing the water expanse.</p>

<p>D<strong>ay 5 GAME DRIVE THEN TRANSFER TO L. BUNYONYI</strong></p>
<p>Wake up to an early morning game drive, south of the park where trails are commonly visited by impala, zebras, lions, leopards, hyenas and other animals. Head back to the lodge for breakfast and then travel to Kabale visiting Maramagambo forest along the way.</p>
<p>On arrival in Kabale, take a short town visit and lunch there and then check into your preferred hotel or lodge for diner and overnight near Lake Bunyonyi. Have an evening boat trip around the lake with excellent view of terraced hills and several birds, both residents and migrant around the shores of the park. Ride to one of the 29 islands within the lake if it doesn’t get late and dark on the boat trip.</p>

<p><strong>DAY 6   TO RWANDA </strong></p>
<p>Drive off to Rwanda after breakfast, crossing the border post at Kisoro. Do all your Visa clearing here and then head for Musanze, a town at the foot of the Virunga volcanos, near Volcanoes National Park. This town is a popular tourist point for gorilla trekking in Rwanda.</p>
<p>From the town, the majestic peaks of five of the 6 volcanoes; Muhabura, Bishoke, Mgahinga, Sabyinyo and Karisimbi are clearly seen. The forest slopes form a scenic landscape above which can’t wait to be explored on the gorilla trekking adventure. Visit and interact with the local people and trackers found here before you retire to your lodge for dinner and overnight.</p>

<p><strong>Day 7 Rwanda Gorilla Trekking </strong></p>
<p>After breakfast,walk to the ORTPN offices in Musanze, a small tourist town/ point at the entrance Parc National des Volcans, receive an hour of briefing and then set off with a tracker or ranger guide.  Trekking for the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virungas is thrilling at the same time strenuous, lasting several hours on intense tracking.  There are a few golden monkeys and birds on the trails too. Meeting a gorilla family feeding and the young playing around can be memorable. Have one hour staring at them and then head back to your lodge for lunch, diner and overnight.</p>
<p><strong>Day 8 BOAT/ CANOE RIDES ON L. KIVU </strong></p>
<p>Drive to one of the three resort towns of Gisenyi, Kibuye or Cyangugu on Lake Kivu, one of Rwanda’s fresh water valley lakes from the Albertine rift valley escarpment. Have a canoe or boat ride on the beautiful lake enclosed by terraced hill slopes and several rural fishing communities. There are a number of birds that visit the lake for example pelicans, malachite kingfishers and crowned cranes.</p>

<p><strong>DAY 1: NGAMBA ISLAND</strong></p>
<p>Take a 45 minute boat trip to Ngamba Island, the home to the orphaned chimpanzees living a protected sanctuary. On arrival, the duty caretakers will take you around the chimp home and brief you about the history of the sanctuary and how and why the chimps were transferred to this island. You can’t miss the feeding session as these give chance for visitors to interact with the chimpanzees. Standing on the visitor platform, you’ll also notice their unique behavior and then take pictures of them.</p>
<p>Have a picnic lunch break and then head back to the mainland, crossing the equator to the Uganda wildlife education centre (Entebbe zoo) where the adventure continues. The rangers here give you a tour of the few animals at the centre such as lions, monkeys, caged snake pythons, crocodiles, the beautiful peacock and the rare ostrich among other birds. Arrive at Kanyankyu tourist centre, first for your lunch break and then take a guided walk through the forest, visit the neighboring communities and take the rest of the evening at leisure.</p>

<p><strong>DAY 3: KIBALE NATIONAL PARK &amp; BIGODI SWAMP</strong></p>
<p>After taking an early breakfast, make a short walk to Kanyankyu River Camp where you’ll have briefing session with an experienced tour guide and later set off to the forest on the chimpanzee tracking adventures. On the trail will be other primates like red-tailed monkeys, olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, grey cheeked mangabeys, bush babies and galagos among others. Chimpanzees will be found swinging about in the forest canopy and others feeding.</p>
<p>Return to the centre for lunch and head switch your trek to Bigodi Swamp popular with many swamp endemic birds like pelicans, herons, callared apallis, bee eater, Narina trogon, black capped apalis, yellow spotted nicator, blue headed sunbird, woodland warbler and more. The swamp is also a major livelihood for the local community through tourism and crafts.</p>

<p><strong>DAY 4: TO- QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK</strong></p>
<p>Drive to Queen Elizabeth national park, one of the largest parks and home to several species of mammals. Stop by Mbarara for lunch and then follow the beautiful hill slopes of the forested valley of Mt. Rwenzori and you’ll be at the park.</p>
<p>Arrive in time for an evening game drive in the savannah with sights of Lions, Elephants, Buffaloes, hyenas, stripped jackals, Hippopotamus, Kobs, Warthog and a variety of primates like Chimpanzee, olive baboon, red-tailed and vervet monkeys in the forests.</p>

<p><strong>DAY 5: GAME DRIVE AND LAUNCH CRUISE – QUEEN ELIZABETH NP </strong></p>
<p>After breakfast, drive to Kasenyi track for visits to the crater lakes, Edwards and George, tour the mating ground for several antelopes, particularly for the Uganda kob also with sights of lions, buffaloes, elephants, zebras and other animals. Head back to your lodge for lunch and then proceed on an afternoon launch cruise Kazinga channel. The ride has vast views of the scenic mountains at a distance, vast water expense with schools of yawning hippos, crocodiles and several animals that visit the banks for drinking water. The launch cruise is popular with birders and naturalists as they visit over 500 species of birds, swamp endemics like Shoe bill stork, kingfisher, fish eagles, migrant from the Albertine rift and others. <p><strong>DAY 6: Transfers to Bwindi National park</strong></p>
<p>Take an early breakfast and then drive to Bwindi Impenetrable forest park, stopping by Kyambura wildlife reserve located on a deep gorge at 100m. There are also bat caves at the gorge with many snakes specifically, pythons. Take a walk through the forest, tracking chimpanzees, baboons and colobus monkeys and then to River Kyambura.</p>
<p>Have a lunch break and then proceed to Bwindi via the lush green countryside, to Maramagambo forest and then to the park. <p><strong>Day 7: BWINDI IMPENETRABLE NATIONAL PARK</strong></p>
<p>After an early breakfast, head to the ranger station for briefing and by the mid morning, start your gorilla trekking expedition in the lush forest vegetation of Bwindi national park. It is quite strenuous and requires fitness through the long hours of anticipated gorilla tracking, sometimes taking 2-7 hours of trekking. The experience is worthwhile after you meet the gorilla who have been tracking, finding them feeding as the juveniles play in the over hanging vines. Other sights on the trails include the rare golden monkeys, wild birds and several butterflies. Spend utmost one hour with the gorillas and then retire to your lodge happy to have made the trip.</p>
<p><strong>DAY 8: TO – KAMPALA</strong></p>
<p>Wake up to an early breakfast and start the long journey back to Kampala with stops at the equator point and lunch breaks from hotel in a major town. Visit the roadside markets for fresh food supplies and a few souvenirs like drums, hand made crafts and art pieces.</p>

<p><strong>DAY 2-Kampala City Tour</strong></p>

There are very many places to visit, however there is little time and annoying traffic jam on the roads. Start off with a trip to Namugongo Martyr’s shrine where the early Christians were burnt for their faith by then King, Kabaka Muwanga, visit the old cathedrals in Rubaga and Namirembe, then head for the royal Kasubi tombs, a UNESCO world heritage site and finally conclude the visit with the independence monument at the heart of the town. You could also savor Kampala night life in its night clubs, cinema and hung outs, found in every part of town.</p>

<p><strong>DAY 3: Transfer to Rwanda</strong></p>
<p>After an early breakfast, check out of your hotel and board a tour van straight to south western Uganda, crossing the border at Kisoro town to the Rwandan side. The journey is quite long, more than 9 hours, with stop at the equator crossing for a few refreshments and lunch break. Drive through the scenic hills, farmlands, past the grazing long horned Ankole cattle and thick lush forests.</p>
<p>Clear at the border point with all necessary Visa requirements and finally check into a hotel or lodge for overnight and dinner. <p><strong>DAY 4: Rwanda Gorilla Tracking and Transfer to Kisoro</strong></p>
<p>An early breakfast is followed by a walk to the ORTPN offices in the town of Musanze where you’ll receive preliminary briefing on tracking the gorilla and allocated an expert tracker to take you through the thick jungles of Volcanoes National Park. Carry appropriate clothing, gear and your lunch box as tracking sometimes takes 2 to 9 hours of intense trekking. When you finally see the silverback or Black gorilla family, you can stare, take pictures and observe the mammal’s behavior for only 1 hour.</p>
<p>An early end to the gorilla tracking will enable you travel back to Kisoro-Uganda where you will have overnight and dinner. Check into optional luxury at Clouds Lodge, Mt. Gahinga Volcanoes lodge and Silverback lodge, standard accommodation from Traveller resthouse, Wagtail Eco lodge and Nkuringo Campsite. There is also budget accommodation from Virunga Hotel and Nkuringo Safari centre among others.</p>
<p><strong>DAY FIVE: Gorilla Tracking in Uganda</strong></p>
<p>Take an early breakfast and walk to the nearby ranger station at Nkuringo where you’ll receive your trekking gear, verify gorilla trekking permits and have briefing about this day’s Gorilla tracking adventure. Under careful lead of the ranger guides, make your way through the thick forested slopes on Mt.Gahinga. Trekking anxiety is rewarded with sights of the silver back family and a few golden monkeys. You have one hour to enjoy the sight of the amazing creatures.</p>
<p>Head back to your lodge for overnight accommodation and excellent dining.</p>
<p><strong>DAY SIX: Drive to Lake Bunyonyi</strong></p>
<p>Set off for Lake Bunyonyi located a few kilometers from Kisoro town. It is named after its many resident birds and ranks as the one of the deepest lakes in Uganda and East Africa. The lake has 29 islands including the Akampene ‘punishment’ island where young girls form bakiga tribe were punished for getting pregnant outside wedlock. The lake boasts scenic view of the majestic Mt. Rwenzori peak on a clear day, a backdrop of terraced hill slopes and many village settlements.</p>
<p>More than 200 birds are found here, for example the White tailed Blue Monard, harrier hawk, grey crowned cranes, the African Harrier Hawk, Herons and egrets, the Levillant cuckoo, the Cardinal Woodpecker and the Rufous-breasted wryneck. Weavers nesting on the Island, include the large golden, slender-billed Baglafetch, as well as the yellow-backed and spectacled weavers. The crowned cranes are a significant sight on the mainland. Lunch is arranged form any lodge or at Prime Island.</p>
<p>Take an afternoon canoe ride to the islands, sighting more birds or opt for a fishing trip at the lake and then enjoy the spectacular sun setting upon the lake. Swimming is another activity to enjoy in the Bilharzia free lake.</p>

Some of the common bird sights include pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many others Albertine rift migrants. The cruise is then concluded by the sun that set on the serene waters, giving way to an African night with croaks, and sounds of crickets in the swamps.</p>
<p><strong>DAY 3 CHIMPANZEE TREK IN KYAMBURA GORGE AND TRANSFER TO BWINDI</strong></p>
<p>Enjoy your morning breakfast and then visit nearby Kyambura wildlife reserve found on the high gorge, south of Lake George and east of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The reserve is a home to a tropical rain forest, Kyambura river, a riverine swamp on the river mouth and both saline and fresh water lakes; Bagusa, Nshenyi, Maseche and Lakes Kararo, Kinera, Chibwera and Kyamwiga respectively.</p>
<p>The gorge has wide open caves where thousands of bats hide and big snakes like pythons and Cobras enjoy this abundant prey. The reserve and Queen Elizabeth park have no road connection but the animals in the north east cross to the park via the shallow river during the dry season.</p>
<p>Drive through the steep terraced hills of Ishasha, south of the park, visiting the river Ishasha and the tree climbing lions, a major attraction. Have a lunch break en-route and proceed for Bwindi Impenetrable forest.</p>
<p>Have an evening enjoy the abundant birdlife of Bwindi forest, over 300 different birds and with 24 of the 26 Albertine rift endemics. The undergrowth is packed with unique tree species, blossoming plants and overhanging vines and wild fruits. You’ll find over 100 butterfly species, frogs, snakes, lizards, chameleons and golden monkeys on your nature/ forest walk. Dinner and overnight is available from Buhoma Community bandas, Bwindi View bandas, Nkuringo campsite tents, Virunga Hotel for budget campsites. Lake Kitandara camp, Wagtail Eco lodge, Engagi lodge, Buhoma lodge, Gorilla Resort camp, Traveler’s rest camp  and Silver back lodge for standard/ up market facilities. <p><strong>DAY 4 Bwindi Gorilla Trekking </strong></p>
<p>Take and early breakfast and go to the ranger station for briefing and then head into the forest behind an expert tracker, making your way through the thick bushes and look for gorilla trails from the previous night. The trekking can take up to 2-9 hours of intense tracking but you have one hour with the giant creatures as you watch them feed and then take their pictures. The forest runs to the Virunga Volcano ranges that make Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. The mountains are gifted with some of the last remaining gorilla families in the world, a total of around 800 survive to this date.</p>
<p><strong>DAY 5   TO RWANDA – VOLCANOES NP </strong></p>
<p>Cross over to Rwanda on the border, clearing with the border agents and reach the town of Musanze, a tourist town popular with gorilla trekking tourists and guides. From here you can have clear views of 5 of the peaks of the Virunga volcanoes; Bisoke, Muhabura, Sabyinyo, Gahinga and Karisimbi. Guided hikes to this peak are a common adventure with the highest Karisimbi in 4 day climb and Bishoke for easy one day hikes.  Kinigi Guest House, Moutain Gorilla Nest Lodge, Mountain gorilla View Lodge and Hotel Gorillas offer cheap and standard accommodation. Volcanoes Lodge and Sabinyo Silver Back lodge have luxury accommodation and spectacular dining.</p>
<p><strong>Day  6 GORILLA TREKKING AFRICA </strong></p>
<p>Begin your Gorilla trekking expeditions in Parc National des Volcans after breakfast. At Musanze, you’ll be briefed and given a tracker/ guide for the day trip. Although long hours of tracking are involved, the reward comes with the one hour you are given to stare and take pictures of the amazing gorilla family.</p>
<p>Return to Musanze town for a late lunch, happy to have been part of this rare experience. Board your tour van back to Kabale for dinner and overnight. Accommodation is available from Bushara Island camp, Bunyonyi overland resort, Arcadia cottages and Habuharo Island<strong>.</strong></p>
<p><strong>DAY 7 L. BUNYONYI- KAMPALA </strong></p>
<p>Wake up to a delightful breakfast that is followed by a relax tour of Lake Bunyonyi, famous for its abundant bird species from which it derives its name. Sail across the lake on a dugout-canoe or boat to some of the islands, watching different birds like pelicans, kingfishers, fish eagles, saddle-billed storks and other which nest around the lake shore.</p>
<p>Return to your lodge for lunch and then get onboard for transfers to Kampala and Entebbe for late departures.</p>

<p><strong>Day 1    Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National park </strong></p>
<p>Drive to Queen Elizabeth national park in the company of a tour guide, south in the Great Rift Valley escarpment, with excellent views of the glaciers on Mt. Rwenzori at a distance. The park is the eastern slopes of the mountains, particularly home to several wild animals and over 500 different species of birds, migrant Albertine endemics.</p>
<p>Stop by a hotel for lunch; visit Mpambire drum makers for a while. Have a short game drive on arrival in the park and visit the crater lakes L. George and Albert with sight of kobs, elephants, zebras, giraffes and leopards among others on the trail.</p>
<p>Dinner and accommodation is from Mweya Safari lodge, Jacana Lodge and kingfisher resort if you want luxurious facilities. Moderate options are available from Hippo Hill Camp, Ihamba Lodge and Institute of Ecology.</p>
<p><strong>DAY 2 Game Drive and Launch Cruise along the Kazinga Channel </strong></p>
<p>Have an early morning game drive before breakfast for big five, hippos, hyenas, elephants, bushbucks, giraffes, buffalos and so much more. Return to the lodge for breakfast/ lunch and then set off for a 2 hour boat cruise tot Kazinga channel for birding and a few animals by the lake, schools of hippos, crocodiles and water fowl.</p>
<p>Retire for dinner and over night at your lodge.</p>
<p><strong>DAY 3; Chimpanzee Trek in Kyambura Gorge and Transfer to Hoima </strong></p>
<p>After your breakfast, drive to Kyambura Gorge and then go trekking for habituated families of Chimpanzees that live here. You however need to have your chimpanzee trekking permit for this adventure which normally last for 2-4 hours. On the trails are other primates like olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed vervet monkeys as well as birds. The forest on the gorge is lush and is often impassable after/ during the rains. the gorge is also home to thousands of bats in the different caves and python snakes that feed on these bat prey.</p>
<p>Continue on the journey to Masindi passing through towns of Fortportal and Hoima, having lunch en-route and get budget overnight and dinner from Hoima’s Kontik Hotel or Kolping Hotel or African Village Guesthouse.</p>
<p><strong>DAY 4; To Murchison Falls National park</strong></p>
<p>Drive to Masindi after breakfast making a stop on the journey for lunch at hotel en-route. Arrive to Murchison falls national park, one of the biggest game parks and speckled with the beautiful Murchison falls plunging some 47m deep through a narrow gorge. The park is actually located on the banks of the Victoria Nile in the north.</p>
<p>Take a nature walk to the top of the falls, a vantage point for wide views of the river boiling into a water caldron below and stretching up northwards, the savannah grasslands of the park. Take a ferry across the Nile to game drive in the Northern sector of the park. Game in this National Park is concentrated in the northern section of Victoria Nile and East of the Albert Nile and Lake Albert due to presence of lush savannah and enough water supply. The launch boat introduces you to aquatic birds like the rarely sighted Shoebill stock, pelicans, kingfishers, fish eagles and other birds en route. Also in abundance are Nile crocodile and Hippopotamus.</p>
<p>Dinner and overnight at the luxurious Paraa safari lodge, Nile safari camp and the moderate Sambiya River lodge, Budongo Eco-lodge and budget accommodation at Red Chillis.</p>
<p><strong>DAY 5; Game drive and boat rode on Victoria Nile</strong></p>
<p>Take breakfast and then go on a game drive through the trail and circuits to the north of the park, either on Albert or Queen’s tracks. The vast north sits in savannah grasslands, rock kopjes and cliffs, acacia woodland and riverine swamps. Sights here include; lion, antelope, giraffe, zebras, antelopes, leopards, elephant, the Uganda kob among others.</p>
<p>Return to the lodge for lunch and then go on a boat ride on the river, below the plunging falls. The boat trip on the Nile takes you to the tranquil waters with several hippos yawning, buffalos in the shallow banks and Nile crocodiles of up to 6m in length resting at the banks. The papyrus and reed swamp shores is home to many endemic species like the sitatunga, the rare shoe bill stork, herons, malachite kingfishers, skimmers, cormorants, fish eagles and many other birds.</p>
<p>Return to the lodge for dinner and over night.</p>
<p><strong>DAY 6; Departures to Kampala </strong></p>
<p>After breakfast, board van for departures to Kampala with a stop at Budongo forest. The forest hosts 6 families of habituated chimpanzees, colobus monkeys, olive baboons and other primates in Kaniyo Pabindi, popular tourist spot within the forest. (Chimpanzee tracking permit is required for this visit). Other sights in the park include birds like weavers, warders, chocolate-backed kingfishers, Bellied crombec and other albertine rift endemics.</p>
<p>Continue the trip to Kampala for departures at Entebbe airport.</p>

<p><strong>DAY 1: Pick ups to Lake Mburo National Park</strong></p>
<p>Meet and interact with your booked tour guide after breakfast/ arrival, discuss trip expectations and then travel straight to Lake Mburo National Park, with a few stops for lunch in major town and photographs at the equator crossing point, a journey of nearly 5 hours.</p>
<p>On arrival, take a rest and have a 3 hour boat/ canoe ride on the lake, with sights of the distant Rwenzori, schools of hippos, buffalos in the shallows, crocodiles at the lakeshores and several birds like fish eagles, kingfishers, pelicans and other papyrus endemics.  Enjoy sunsets by the lake or visit a nearby community of mostly game rangers and fishermen.</p>
<p>You will have your dinner and overnight at Rwoonyo campsite and Arcadia cottages for cheaper accommodation and Mantana Luxury tented camps or Mihingo Lodge for luxury and up market accommodation.</p>
<p><strong>DAY 2: Lake Mburo National Park and Transfer to Bwindi Gorilla Forest</strong></p>
<p>Breakfast is followed by a morning game drive to the park watching different animals feed and drink by the lakeshores like Uganda kob, buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes, spotted hyena, rothchild’s giraffes, zebras, hippos, elephants and crocodiles and several birds.</p>
<p>Return to the lodge for lunch and then set off to Bwindi impenetrable forest National park, passing by Maramagambo forest for a short nature walk in the primate habitat, also enjoy backdrop views of the glaciated peaks of Rwenzori mountains and its forested slopes.</p>
<p>Bwindi forest is one of the untouched rain forests in Africa, home to some remaining families of the mountain gorillas and golden monkeys, a primate specie endemic to the Albertine rift that stretches into this massive ridge mountains.</p>

<p><strong>DAY 3: GORILLA TRACKING IN BWINDI IMPENETRABLE FOREST</strong></p>
<p>Take an early breakfast and walk to the nearby ranger station where you’ll have briefing on the much anticipated adventure, given appropriate gear and then escorted by an armed ranger into the unfamiliar forest cover. Tracking is often long and strenuous and requires fitness in mind and body, several hours of fruitless tracking is surprisingly rewarded sooner, by the on sight of a silverback family found feeding and the young playing in the vines. Spend one intense hour with the animals and take some pictures with them.</p>
<p>From the trek, visit the Munyanga river and the fringing forest’s unique flora and fauna and a colorful variety of butterflies. Alternatively, take a village walk, visiting the Batwa people and the Bakiga that live near the park.</p>
<p>Enjoy the rest of your evening at the lodge and savor different cuisine prepared to the delight of your taste.</p>
<p><strong>DAY 4: BWINDI GORILLA FOREST – KAMPALA</strong></p>
<p>Pack your luggage, have breakfast and board tour van for a 9hour trip back to Kampala. Stop by interesting points like the Equator crossing point and road side craft markets for refreshments and snacks. Lunch can be arranged in hotel en-route from a major town.</p>

The channel has over 600 species of birds like the pelican, shoebill stork among others, making it a birder’s paradise. Experience the spectacular sunsets on the boat ride and then return to your respective lodges for dinner and overnights.</p>
<p><strong>DAY 3: NATURE WALK / CHIMPANZEE TRACKING</strong></p>
<p>Go on a nature walk early in the morning to Kyambura wildlife reserve set on the gorge, a popular track for chimpanzee tracking. There are also other primates in this forest reserve such as olive baboons, vervet monkeys, bush babies, colobus monkeys etc.</p>
<p>Head back to your lodge for breakfast and get ready for returns to Kampala. Stop by the nearby Maramagambo forest for nature walks into the lush forest, visit the hunter’s caves-home to thousands of bats and pythons.( this trek may not be included in the package and may require extra costs)</p>
<p>Drive off to Kampala and later catch your return flight.</p>
